Nestlé inaugurates the first-of-its-kind Institute of Packaging Sciences

Vevey, Switzerland Sep 12, 2019 Nestlé today officially inaugurated the Institute of Packaging Sciences, the first-of-its-kind in the food industry. The new Institute enables Nestlé to accelerate its efforts to bring functional, safe and environmentally friendly packaging solutions to the market and to address the global challenge of plastic packaging waste.

FuturePack updates stakeholders with latest conference

The Norwegian FuturePack project, with research partners including IAPRI members Østfoldforskning and Nofima, held its conference in Oslo in September, with the aim of updating international businesses in the plastics packaging value chain.

Ametek Mocon launches industry knowledge platform

US-based corporate member Ametek Mocon has launched its PackageIntegrity.com website, which it says will focus on packaging science, applications and standards, with the aim of helping packaging professionals to select better barrier material specifications and designs.

Bigger could be better for Tampere University, Finland

On the one hand, the university itself was only created at the beginning of the year, merging as it does Tampere University of Technology and the University of Tampere. With its 20,000 students and 330 professors, this makes it the second largest university in the country.
