Earlier in June, the ‘green lung’ of the University of Twente’s lush campus outside Enschede, the Netherlands, was an appropriate setting for lively debates about sustainability – as well as many other aspects of packaging - as IAPRI’s 29th Symposium got underway. The Institute of Food Technology (Ital) in Brazil opens registrations for the selection of candidates for a Young Researcher (JP) Scholarship in the area of Investigation of metallic materials for packaging

The JP is expected to develop a research project to expand the Institute's activities in the area of Product and Process Innovation, focusing on the composition and microstructure of aluminum sheets for the production of two-piece cans built-in and stretched - DWI, aiming at the establishment of competence and infrastructure for the study of metallography, chemical composition and corrosion resistance of aluminum alloys used in the production of cans for beverage packaging.

PhD Thesis Support Requested on the History and Philosophy of Food Packaging

Athanasios Stathopoulos, a Food Engineer, working in the Food Industry mainly in Quality Assurance projects in Dairy and Bakery is working on his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Kanavouras (Lecturer - PhD Packaging Engineer) of the Agricultural University of Athens and is trying to lay out a qualified research proposal on a PhD research thesis in the History and Philosophy of Food Packaging.
