Call for Consideration: Hosting the 2029 IAPRI Member Conference in Europe

The IAPRI Board of Directors is seeking proposals from member organizations interested in hosting the 2029 IAPRI Member Conference in Europe. Two IAPRI members may also combine their resources and expertise to submit a proposal to co-host the conference.
 
Hosting an IAPRI conference provides an opportunity to:

• Showcase your organization, research capabilities, facilities, and areas of expertise to the international packaging research community.
• For universities, increase the visibility of faculty, researchers, and students and provide students with valuable exposure to an international professional conference.
• For research institutes and research companies, demonstrate specialized expertise, services, and facilities while developing new research and industry connections.
• Strengthen relationships with packaging researchers and industry professionals from around the world.
• Highlight your region and its packaging-related research and industry activities.
• Help shape an important IAPRI event and contribute to the association’s international mission.

Hosting requires a local team to coordinate the venue, accommodations, registration, conference website, technical arrangements, social activities, and onsite logistics. The host works closely with IAPRI on the program, communications, budgeting, and other major planning decisions. In a co-hosting arrangement, the two member organizations could divide these responsibilities according to their respective capabilities and resources.
 
IAPRI has developed comprehensive Conference Hosting Guidelines to assist the host throughout the process. These guidelines provide:

• A step-by-step planning timeline.
• Clear descriptions of host and IAPRI responsibilities.
• Budgeting and sponsorship guidance.
• Checklists for the venue, accommodations, audiovisual needs, website, registration, and program development.
• Templates for communications, invitations, confirmations, and other conference materials.
• Examples and practical guidance based on previous IAPRI conferences.

The guidelines are intended to simplify the planning process, reduce the need to create materials from the beginning, and provide ongoing support to the host organization.
 
At this stage, we would like to hear from European member organizations that may be interested in hosting or co-hosting. An initial expression of interest does not require a complete proposal. IAPRI will provide additional information, including the host application and proposal requirements, and will be available to discuss the opportunity with interested organizations.
