Preservation of Food Quality: Investigating and advancing packaging methods and materials that extend the shelf life of food products, maintaining their quality, flavor, and nutritional value for longer periods.
Reduction of Food Waste: Working towards reducing food waste at all stages of the supply chain by optimizing packaging designs and strategies that minimize spoilage, damage, and excess packaging.
Increase of Food Safety through Packaging: Promoting packaging innovations that enhance food safety by preventing contamination, and the growth of harmful microorganisms during storage and transportation.
Food and Packaging Interaction: Studying the complex relationship between food and packaging materials to ensure that packaging does not negatively impact the taste, texture, or safety of the food, while also considering environmental sustainability.
