White House connection for Clemson

Santerre, whose experience includes a spell as advisor for the Office of Science and Technology Policy in the Executive Office of the President in Washington DC, joins the Clemson team from Purdue University, Indiana.

Keith Belli, dean and associate vice president of Clemson’s College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences, said that the FNPS program was one of Clemson’s finest, and one which set the university apart from many other establishments. “Dr Santerre is a proven leader, and I am confident he will lead FNPS to even greater heights,” he added.

As well as his current role as professor of food toxicology at Purdue, he has also served as interim head of the School of Health Sciences and taken the lead on website and software development. One example of the latter is a program designed to delivery high-quality training to teachers and healthcare professionals.

Santerre is due to take up his new role at Clemson from the beginning of August.
